History

TD Financing Services was created by bringing together two leading indirect lending businesses together under one brand, TD Canada Trust’s Indirect Lending business and VFC Inc., one of Canada’s primary specialty finance providers.

The Toronto-Dominion Bank began its Indirect Lending business in 1982, and for a time operated as “Greenlight Financial Services”. Founded in 1994, VFC Inc. was operating as one of Canada’s largest indirect consumer finance companies, became a publicly traded company in September 2003, and was sold to TD Bank Group in 2006.
